Of course religious people are going to disagree with me, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they masturbate and put on a facade.

Here’s the issue. It’s when men start masturbating as an addiction, maybe 2, 3, 4, or even 5 times a day. Believe it or not a lot of men have to deal with this problem. You might be masturbating everyday and not consider yourself an addict. However, try avoiding it for 2 days straight. Are you able to beat it?

Look, it’s completely normal to masturbate, but when it becomes an addiction a lot of us decide that it’s time to conquer it.

Why is it a problem we want to overcome in the first place?

Effects of Masturbating Addiction

  • You’re more likely to have less self control than most people.
  • It can lead to erectile dysfunction, because it takes more to fill that hunger.
  • This might be a myth: When you stop masturbating, your voice actually gets deeper.
  • Having sex with an actual person raises your testosterone. Masturbating cause you to produce less.
  • An increase of social anxiety. Psychologically you sometimes feel you have much to hide.

How Do I Stop?

For some, something eventful happens that causes some people to stop completely. The same can be said about people who stop smoking, and others who have  a complete 180 shift in their lives.

Strategy to Stop Masturbating

  1. Know that it’s a part of the human experience. Don’t punish yourself for wanting to masturbate. The solution is knowing how to control it. The same goes with any fear. It will always be there, but people succeed when they know how to cope with it.
  2. Keep yourself occupied doing the things you love (Don’t keep yourself busy doing something you dislike). When you’re doing the things that you want to do, the mind has no time to think of things such as masturbating. The reason people end up addicted to masturbation, is because they have too much time on their hands.
  3. Keep track of the number of days you’ve stopped. You can do this by having a calender and crossing off everyday you managed to keep yourself from doing it. If you fail, then start over again.
  4. Get rid of anything that gives you the urge. Stop looking at porn sites, porn channels, or even seductive advertisements on magazines and TV. The media knows the human mind and are easily manipulating millions of people. Take control of your mind and body.
  5. Health and Growth (this will be very vague, but powerful).  Get enough sleep, drink lots of water, exercise, educate yourself by reading and watching videos, pray, and meditate.
  6. Know when to seek help. If you truly feel that it’s gotten to the point where you can’t control it, then consider seeking professional help. It’s nothing to be ashamed about, especially if you want to overcome it.

Your choice to stop is really your choice. If you know it deep down inside that you want to stop, then you will have capability to do it. Make sure you keep track of your success, and before you know it you’ll have a much healthier lifestyle.
