Fellas, I’ve got some news for you. I have NEVER heard a woman complain about my offering to cook for her. Not ever. There’s a …
So with that in mind, here are a couple of meal ideas to get you going.
Note: I’m not posting recipes. These are just to get the ideas flowing.
Pasta – Pasta is one of those meals that looks way harder to make than it really is, so you have the double whammy of impressing her by cooking and also cooking something really easy. It’s relatively healthy and you have a ton of flavor options. Marina, alfredo… make it your own.
Salad – We all know women love salad. You have two choices here. A small garden salad as an appetizer to the main course, or a big bowl of something more substantial. Maybe a Chicken Caesar Salad or, if you’re feeling adventurous, ambrosia.
Filet Mignon – This is a good way to serve one of your favorite foods (steak, we all love steak) in a package she appreciates. Everyone is happy with a fancy filet mignon. Light the candles and watch her heart melt at your kitchen mastery. This dish has the best opportunities for side dishes, too. One of the above mentioned salads, or some grilled vegetables.
Kabobs – My personal favorite because, even though you’re the chef tonight, you can get her involved. Putting the different foods on your little kabob sticks is a little messy, but it becomes an actual activity when she’s helping you. Now she’s not just sitting around while you cook for her… she’s having fun.
Those are some basic suggestions, and I’m sure you have a few ideas up your sleeve. Showing you know your way around a kitchen tells her you’re a jack of all trades, a man who knows what he’s doing and one who is sensitive to her needs. Learning how to cook is never a bad idea in and of itself, but it’s one of the best ways to show her what a catch you are.
